OBESITY, FOOD, EXERCISE...
Food, Exercise and Obesity are entwined issues. It has been said, "You are what you eat." Since our pets have no control over purchasing good foods, it is up to us to make sure they receive healthy balanced diets. Obesity, and its associated health problems, is on the rise in our pet population and it is up to us to rectify the problem!! I am not a fan of treats, rather praise and love. If using training treats, decrease the kibble or use allotted kibble as the treat to ensure no extra calories are fed. Also, consider using fruits and veggies like apple pieces, green beans, and carrot pieces. Counting calories and increased exercise is the key to weight loss in animals and people.Please check out the following:
